Devlog 7: Production 4
Devlog 7: Production 4
The 2nd week of the 2nd Production Sprint is over, and we have managed to push our game a lot further.
First of we decided to change the trash bag the racoons are carrying into a backpack since that would choosing the right animations a lot easier and adds a bit more character to the racoons. The backpacks also look a lot cuter and more interesting than the trash bags we had previously.
Each Racoon has their backpack in their respective colours of course.
After our weekly meeting we decided that our level would need to be a lot smaller than it was before to make the game more chaotic and to prevent players from drifting too far apart from each other. With a smaller level the players are forced to interact more and escaping each other will be more difficult. We believe that this way the game will be a lot more enjoyable and require a bit more strategy and skill.
So, we made some changes to our block out again. The garden is a lot smaller, and parts of the house are as well. The house section of the level is now bigger than the garden and they are not the same size anymore.
To make our level look like an actual house we have created several textures for the walls and floors. We have different wall/floor textures for the different parts of the house making each room and area look a little different and more interesting.
Floor Tiles
Wall Tiles
Each room has been filled with furniture and props that the racoons will be able to destroy. Of course, we made sure the racoons would still be able to move around and that the house wouldn’t*t be overfilled with props
Finally, our game has now animations implemented as well. The racoons are now running through the level. They have a hitting, idle, picking up, death and a funny stun animation. No more T-Posing. This will already make our level a lot more fun to play and give better player feedback.
We now have a beautiful start screen in our game and the Ui has been made and is being implemented into the game as well. The screen where characters can be selected will be made and added in the next week.
A Trash counter will be depicting how much Trash each player has collected.
By next week we will add finished particles to our game, make sure the lighting is beautiful and texture and finish all our props and parts of the level.
We hope you will enjoy playing our game. Have fun and see you next week <3
